“If I died tomorrow, I would die a happy man.”

June 28, 2012

According to the Daventry Express:

A butcher from Spratton presented his award-winning Diamond Pie to the Queen on her recent Diamond Jubilee tour of the East Midlands.

Chris Saul, of Sauls of Spratton was among a number of county producers…who were displaying their wares at Burghley House.

Mr Saul said: “I told the Queen that I was presenting it on behalf of the people of Northamptonshire and she smiled and asked me where it was made, so I told her about our shop in Spratton. Beyond that it’s all a bit of a blur, but if I died tomorrow, I would die a happy man.”
