American social mobility identical to medieval England

According to CBS13:

A UC Davis economics professor…Gregory Clark is sharing his research as a hard truth…

“America has no higher rate of social mobility than medieval England…”

Clark crunched the numbers in the U.S. from the past 100 years. His data shows…that social mobility here is no different than in the rest of the world.

“…much of their lives can be predicted from their lineage and their ancestry,

“…the world is a limiting place,” he said.

There’s one caveat to the study, and that is for any one of us, there is always an exception to the rule.
