Tony Blair’s visit to the Highland Games in 2003 was notable for the lack of enthusiasm exhibited by his wife, Cherie. She wrote, controversially, in her memoirs about the couple’s visits to the Highlands.
When Mrs Blair invited the Princess Royal to call her “Cherie”, Anne had replied: “Actually, I prefer Mrs Blair.”
