[T]he present crisis can well serve as the occasion for acquiring the virtue of fortitude since it rips off the veil of these modern illusions so often portrayed by Hollywood. It allows us to see that we must always be engaged in the struggle against misfortune, which is our lot due to Original Sin.

Moreover, we must also be continually engaged in the fight for a social and economic order since there will always be those who will oppose God’s Law and work to the contrary by undermining the family, marriage, and all those other institutions that make up the heart and soul of an economy.

Like it or not, the minute we cease to fight for our Christian culture, we prepare ourselves for defeat. Unless society be permeated by the fortitude needed to confront this great struggle, all our efforts will come to nothing.
