Jean, comte de Gassion

Jean, comte de Gassion

Count Jean de Gassion was wounded on the bridge of Cameretz while fighting next to the duke of Rohan. As he did not want to be separated from his commanding officer, the latter asked him:

—    “But will you be able to accompany us?”

—    “I don’t see what would prevent me. After all, your retreats are never carried out that fast.”
