By Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira
So the true knight takes his generosity to such a point that if he goes into battle and has a brother-in-arms who is fighting magnificently but whose sword all of a sudden drops from his hand, his reaction is not, “Great, I won’t have this one as a rival!” but the opposite: “Oh what a shame! My king will be deprived of this warrior!” – And having two swords, he hands him one.
This is a grand, generous spirit that characterizes the knight. Strong, courageous, generous and detached!
