Luis Quijada
In 1570, at the battle of Serón, a bullet bounced off Don John of Austria’s helmet and struck Don Luis de Quijada, who had been his tutor. On his deathbed, a week later, the tutor told the prince: “I received from the Emperor the mission to protect you. That bullet was meant to kill one of us two, and I took it, so everything is well.”
