We are vehemently opposed to the abolition of male primogeniture in Britain’s peerage, currently under discussion in Parliament, and find it rather disingenuous for the promoters of this egalitarian proposal to call themselves “conservative.” What is conservative about the ideology of egalitarianism, the sole basis for abolishing this millennial tradition? Those in favor of abolishing male primogeniture for Britain’s peerage should not mislead the public. They should be clear and straightforward and call themselves leftists.
